Question: How many newsletter editors does it take to get the thing out on time?

Answer: Nobody knows.. its never been done!

This Month

Meeting: Saturday December 18, 2004 5:30 PM. Dinner at 6:00PM Yale Avenue Christian Church.

From the Prez....

Howdy, dulcimer folks!

Our November meeting was fun and mostly uneventful. Our officers have agreed to let someone else volunteer to take over the helm, except that if nobody volunteers, we'll still be around and do whatever it is that we've been doing this year. So, now's your chance. Volunteer for anything, Prez, Veep, Treasurer, you name it, and the job is yours.

Our December meeting will be held on Saturday, December 18th, and it's our annual Pot Luck gathering. The club will provide something in the way of a main dish, and you folks get to bring salads, veggies, desserts, drinks, etc. We won't try to coordinate who brings what, because we've always managed to have a pretty good spread without worrying about things like that, so we'll just give it another try and see how it works out! Plan to arrive with your dish(es) around 6:00 PM, and we'll set things out and have a good time eating first, then we'll get out the instruments and see who has learned a new Holiday tune to share.

I will do my best in December to NOT get hung up with my honey-do list, and get to the meeting on time. I have already tied a string around my finger to remind me. If you see me on the street, you can remind me, too.

Okay, next festival that I'm aware of is the annual New Year's shindig down at Sam Houston State in Texas, followed by the Winter Festival in Irving, Texas, on February 11-12, then the String Fling doin's in Joplin on February 26. Mark your calendars now!

We'll see you on the 18th at our December meeting, okay? Hmmm, wonder what this string around my finger is for........?

Dennis.

Its another small note!

An interesting year from the perspective of the newsletter generator/editor. Going electronic has made the process much more managable compared to newsletters I have published in years past. Most of the changes I think were moves in a direction ITDC needs, and changes are needed yet.

Each month I have planned to get the newsletter out about a week before the meeting. The best laid plans of mice and this newsletter editor must go astray! Twice this year it has been so close to the meeting that the paper version never got sent, electronic deliver was all there was time for. This newsletter is clearly out long enough before the meeting to allow you to put it on the calendar! (and get paper copies to those without email..) So lets all get together and have a great dinner and music session! Holiday tunes are especially welcome!

If you have ideas on how to improve the club or the newsletter, please let myself or Dennis know, as neither of us have our mind reading license. Our email addresses are published in the notices that are sent out electronically with each newsletter announcment.. feel free to use them! Its been a great year, just look back at the photos! Amazing eh?

Did we have fun- or what? FUN!

Dana

Click on the month to see the snapshots I took that month! The photos were always posted in the following months newsletter. That is why there is no December yet! Also why the photos dont correlate to the ones posted in each months newsletter.
